Your French Leaving Cert oral exam will take place in the form of a 12 min conversation with the examiner, you have the option to bring in a ‘document’ of your choice as part of the exam.
Here are a few tips I share for your French Leaving Cert oral exam:
The conversation part will require you to be able to answer questions about yourself, your family, your school, where you live, your hobbies, friends, holidays, career plans etc…(download your free ’50 French Leaving Cert Oral Questions’ mp3 here)
but you could also get a question or two about current affairs such as L’environnement or Le racisme for example.
The examiner will test your ability to answer questions in the past, present and future tenses, and you might also be tested on your ability to use the conditional with an IF question: “Que feriez-vous si …?”
The French Leaving Cert oral exam at Higher Lever is worth 25% of the total marks, and 20% at Ordinary Level.
